Ba Sing Sae The word traitor had never really appeased to Iroh. To him it sounded like something disgusting or distasteful. He wasnt a traitor and he knew that what he had done at the North Pole was not just for the sake of the Water tribe or for the fire nation it was for the entire world as well. He knew that the balance had to be kept. Without the balance everything would be thrown into chaos. I wish I had some tea. Iroh said, as he licked his lips longing for the taste of tea. He sat in the center of his cell. He had been in there since that fateful day in the crystal catacombs of old Ba sing sa. His cell was entirely made of special kind of metal. Making it impossible to melt with fire bending. There were Dai Lee agents posted outside of his cell door making sure he didnt try anything. There was no light inside except from light emanating from the door. He didnt exactly know what was going to happen to him. Most likely he would be taken back to his brother to answer for his crimes against the fire nation. Or maybe his brother would let Azula administer her own brand of justice on him. He really hoped it would be option one. He never regretted helping the avatar escape. He knew that the avatar was the only hope of saving the world from his brother. He believed that his brother had lost his mind and that this war was destroying his nation. What bothered him most though was that Zuko, his own nephew, betrayed him. He didnt blame Zuko for having hope that he might have a chance to redeem himself to his father. He was just disappointed in the decision he had made. He had put himself into a difficult position. He had no doubt that when he sided with Azula he would regret it. Azula was a person who, by her very nature, was evil. He was offered a chance at redemption but for all the wrong reasons. Azula only used him for her own twisted purpose. Iroh could see right through Azulas offer when she told him that if he helped her father would welcome him back home. He could have easily told Zuko that she was manipulating him. But alas he knew that in the end it was Zuko who had to make his own choice. That day had changed everything. He cursed Zukos name under his breath. Because of Zuko Ba Sing Sae was now in the hands of Azula, because of Zuko he was in the prison hold. He didnt blame Zuko he just knew that Zuko was going to regret every decision he made from that moment on. A noise emanated from his cell door he disrupting his concentration. The little compartment on the bottom of the cell door opened. Dinner said the guard coldly as he slid the tray of food in. Iroh looked at his meal with disgust. It was only a loaf of bread that looked stale and a cup of water that had weird little bugs swimming in it. He was a big man he needed good food. Good food and a great beverage to go with it. He imagined his plate filled with appetizing morsels. Five silver platters plates one with a roasted fish, another one with a huge T bone steak from a wolf bat, a small bowl of rice, steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes covered with gravy and a huge pot of tea I really wish I had some tea. Then a thought occurred to him grabbing his cup of water he rushed to the door. Excuse me sir he called to the guard. The guard stopped walking but still had his back to him. In an aggravated tone he replied What? Iroh smiled innocently. Could I trade this cup of water in for a small pot of Jasmine tea please? The guard turned his head around. His face was expressionless however his left eyebrow was raised. Was that a serious question? Iroh looked at him confused. Ah yeah Im always series when it comes to tea? The guard lowered his eyebrow, his face had gone stern. No! he turned and walked down hallway not looking back. Iroh let out a sigh of misery. He looked back at his bread in his dinner plate. He gave a small smile At least its something. He took the bread and took a small bite. It was so stale that he spat his contents out instantly. He pushed his food tray aside then sat in his usual spot and began thinking again. He wondered what his brother might say to him when he returned. It wouldnt be pleasant his brother never liked pleasantries. No with Ozai it was always straight and too the point. In the past he and his brother would always have interesting conversations. He remembered a time when he and Ozai actually got along with each other. They would play together, they would get into trouble together, and they were always there for each other. Ozai was always stronger than Iroh and Iroh was more intelligent than Ozai. The two of them were, at one point, very close. However fate had other plans for them. It wasnt until Iroh turned eighteen when seeds of resentment took place in Ozai. Fire Lord Azulon spent a lot of time with Iroh after his eighteenth birthday. At the time no one could measure to his fathers power, skill, or methods in the arts of firebending. Azulon took it upon himself to train Iroh in the ways in fire bending. He learned a lot of powerful moves from his fathers teachings. While Iroh grew older the more distant he and Ozai became. They would meet occasionally during the day but other than that they were kept apart due to both Irohs extensive fire bending training and his military training that his father insisted that he took. Though it took him time Iroh excelled in both fields. Ozai had also received training in fire bending and military. But Ozais training was not as demanding as his. Oazi grew more and more jealous of him. Ozais accomplishments always too a back seat to his. Their father hardly paid attention to Ozai. Soon Ozai confronted Iroh he demanded that Iroh instruct him in the fire bending ways that Azulon taught him. With much hesitation Iroh agreed. To his surprise Ozai excelled faster that he did. Just short of a year Ozai completed his training. Though there training was over Ozai continued to train profusely. Ozai continued his training until he was certain that he had reached his full potential. He sought Iroh out and challenged him to an Agni Kai in front of the entire kingdom. He told Iroh that this might be his last hope of ever proving himself to his father. Though Iroh knew he would be beaten severely, for Ozai was always stronger than him, he said he would do it for his brothers sake. When the day came everyone was excited. The Agni Kai had lasted all morning and it went as he had expected it. Though he was able to hold his own against his brother for the most of it in the end it was Ozai who emerged victories. After the dual Azulon approached the two of them. Instead of congratulating Ozai for his victory. Azulon congratulated him, Iroh, for lasting as long as he did. He then scolded at Ozai. He said that the only reason Ozai could have won was that he had spied on Iroh during his training sessions. Azulon even went as far as to call him a weak self centered person who should have never been born. He and Ozai were shocked by what Azulon had said. He had never heard his father say such terrible things to Ozai. Azulon had spoken to Ozai as if he were a dog or a poor peasant begging for money on the street. When Ozai heard this it broke his heart. No matter what he did he would never get his fathers approval. When Azulon left the two of them he tried to talk to Ozai. Ozai just shoved him aside. Ozai said that he hated him and that never wanted to see him again. Tears filled up in Irohs eyes as reality was coming back for him. From that point on Ozai had only seen Iroh during there war meetings. Other than that Ozai had kept away from him. Iroh snapped back into reality. He knew his brother had lost his mind and he knew that the Ozai he once knew was gone forever consumed by his jealousy, his hatred and by his power. He knew that his brother had to be stopped. That was probably one of the reasons why he helped Aang and his friends escape. The Avatar is the only hope for the world now. Fatigue began to take Iroh. He walked over to his cot, laid his head back on his pillow. I really wish I could have had some tea before bed. Then he shut his eyes and began to dream the same dream he had had every night since he had returned home from the 600 day siege at Ba Sing Sae: Young Lu Ten and him running through the fields together playing happily. How the Headband could have happen.
it begin with Aang POV as he is taken to the fire nation school and it will follow just as the episode did. Except after the part were he get's out of band class the well expand the conversation between Aang gets out of band class and run into Onji. During the conversation she says she thought the way he moved his feet was interesting Aang says thanks I could teach you some if you like and Hide blows Fire Between them and says what did you say your going to show her something and Aang says just some dance moves that is all and Hide says no body teaches my Onji anything especially stupid dances and Aang says well I check she didnt belong to anybody and isnt she free to make her own choices and Hide gets all mad and Clobbers Aang and Onji Gasp as she look at the sight of Aang being beaten up in tears and Punches Hide or slaps him and says That is it Hide its over im not your Girl friend im not your Onji im just a natured girl who wants to be treated with Respect and you have no Respect at all in fact youre a bully then the Headmaster comes out and Suspends Hide and has Aang Rush to the Hospital and the Nurse puts some kind of lotion substance that Healed Aang bruises and cuts instantly. Aang is surprise and asks the nurse how did she do that. The nurse says replies by saying Do you think our nations advancement in modern warfare is our only priority They always find time to advance everything... even modern medicine. She smiles and tells Aang he can Leave after Aang leaves he run into Onji and she says Kuzon are you all right he replies im fine but that Healing Medicine did sting a bite and Onji says I know I cute my finger with my pencil and the nurse us it on me to an it stung to but I got through it. Anyway I like how you stood up to Hide it was brave of you no one else has ever done that before but you did then she Kisses him on the Check Aang blushes. Then she invites him and his family over to her house for dinner. Aang says yes but when Onji leaves he realizes how exactly is he going to pull off having a family.(He goes back to the cave tells the others everything. Sokka gets nearly hysterical. Aang then gives his little speech on how he enjoyed being a normal kid and that it was nice having a friendly conversation with someone from the fire nation that it reminded him of his friendship with Kuzon. Katara and Toph both agree with Aang saying they think it might be fun. Sokka still say's it's a bad idea but relents. The next part of the story we'll open up with Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph showing up at Onji's house. Katara and Sokka are both in the disguises they wore in the episode. Aang Introduces Onji to his parents (Katara and Sokka) and to his sister Toph. Onji's parents begin a conversation with Sokka and Katara. Onji gives Toph and Aang a tour of the house there they meet Onji's Grandfather. They are introduced to each other and after they meet Onji takes Aang by his arm and leads him through the rest of the house. Onji's grandfather looks at Aang with a suspicious look on his face. During dinner Oji's grandfather is still staring at Aang suspiciously. Aang seems a little uncomfortable by this. Onji, seeing Aangs discomfort, asks. "Grandpa are you all right?" and he replies "I'm fine dear but your friend looks so familiar." Aang get's even more paranoid and asks what he means. Onji's grandfather goes on to say "You remind me of my old friend. His name was Aang, he was an Air bender, and I had known him before the war even started." Onji's Grandfather looks away, smiling sadly, "He was best friend the two of use would get in and out of so much trouble together. He always knew how to have a great time and he also knew how to take foolish chances." Sokka, Katara, Toph, and Aang are all startled by this revelation. Kuzon continues by saying evan though I had no bvrothers or Sibaling of my own Aang was the closest thing I had to a brother. Then Kuzon says, "Like there was this one time he let me use his glider and I crashed it into the school..." Aangs then laughs as he cuts in saying "...and the two of you got such a scolding from the principle and you guy's had to fix the school." Kuzon startled by this say's "Why yes that is exactly what happened but how do you know that?" Aangs says with a nervous look on his face. "A lucky guess." Onji's Grandfather is still looking at him suspiciously. Kuzon also says that after Aang disappeared his Master Gyatso came to his house and tells Kuzon that Aang ran away ask him if Aang is at his house Kuzon says no he didnt and wants to help Gyatso say yes but then one of the other Monks shows up and tells him to come back at the Airtemple after Kuzon realize Aang ran away he ha had tried to find him because he was the Reason Aang had Disappeared he says when Aang but when he learned that his nation had destroyed all the air nomads he gave up. Onji's father then say's that that's not how it happened that the air nation army was destroyed by Fire nation he goes on to say that all that conspiracy theory talk about how the Fire nation slaughtered the air nomads isn't true. Aang wants to abject but he doesn't want to make a scene. Kuzon then say's to Onji's father "You believe what you want I'll believe what I want." Onji dad Ask Aang and the Gang what their stand is in the war they all Hesitate and Onji mother says its all right what ever you say in this house stays in this house I am in no faver of the war at all hearing about all those people who have suffered and how the rest of the world is going to hold resentment towards the nation for a long time. Onji Father then says he is in personal faver of the war. He gives a reasonable explanation and is very understanding to his wifes decision and the other people resentment towards the way. He claims hes in favor of it because he tries to look at it from a bigger Picture. Kuzon says that he is not in faver of the war either and says why. Kuzon said when I was Eighteen I was force to Join the fire Nation Army me and a whole and bunch of other new and train Recruits were being lead by Fire Lord Sozin himself in the Battle of Han Tui and even though we were out Numbered we beat them thanks to Sozin he calculated his Advantages and burn their crisp in minutes Trust me he wasnt crown Fire Lord for nothing he was capable of anything he always drew his new fire bending talents from the sun after their defenses were burn we had the Earth kingdom over run and what a victory for the Fire Nation he kept me and the of the solders alive and awarded us all Golden fire Nation emblems as hero of our Nation and the rest of the solders I have done a lot of terrible things when was with the army I killed a lot men and burn down a lot of Villages and see a lot of People run away in fear from me I was even fought along side Fire Lord Azulon in the Battle of Garsai and witness a lot of men get killed I nearly got killed myself but just injured my legs and crawled into a Gaint ditch and waited for the battle to end I didnt car who would have won the battle I didnt car if the fire nation found me and took me into medical or if the Earth kingdom found and took me prisoner I was prepared to die anyway so why wouldnt be involved any more blood shed but the Fire Nation win the Battle and they did find me and carried me in a sketcher and back to the fire Nation camp I was hoping they would send me back home and wouldnt have me fight again but apparently the Fire Nation not just advanced in Technological warfare but also in modern medicine as well they put some kind of lotion substance on my legs which heal them in a matter of seconds and boy did that sting and Aang says that the same stuff they used on me at the Hospital to heal my wounds looks like the fire Nation is advancing more then we thought and Kuzon replies indeed they are and continues his story about what the war has put him through after the Battle of Garsai I even help Azulon conquer the Hue Sin Province. And during the Final Battle I saved his life me and the rest of the solders were welcome back as heros but I didnt feel like a hero I felt like a murder instead of sending me home they had me help Fire Lord Azulan son the Dragon of the west {Iroh} and help him break down the walls of Ba Sing Sa we broke throw the walls and storm into the wall but the death of one solder change all that and Sokka say one solder death change entire Battle and Kuzon says well it just so happen that the solder was the son of the dragon of the west and it torn him apart he abandon me and the rest of the solders and deserted us and we had to retreat but im glad it happen I thought enough People had died enough as it is we took the dragon of the west son who name was Luten back to the fire Nation and gave him a proper burial also the dragon of the west who name was Iroh and Katara says Iroh wasnt that the name of Zuko weird but smart uncle and Sokka says yes he was the but he didnt act like he was the death of his son Really must of messed him up and Kuzon says well he was suppose to be next in line to be Fire Lord and Luten was his only child but after the death of his son his blood line had ended and his younger brother Ozie was crown Fire Lord instead after the death of fire lord Azulon but after that I return home and lived a peaceful life and had a family my Daughter is now Onji mother and that is how its been for me so far after my wife who Onji was named after died right before Onji was born then my Daughter let me live with her so I wouldnt feel Lonely and been help my daughter and her husband taking care of Onji ever since. After the gang leaves Onji and Kuzon are outside saying their goodbyes Aang is looking back saying his good byes but is also looking at Kuzon he want to tell Kuzon who he is but he is afraid how Onji and her Parents will react Kuzon is looking at Aang Suspiciously and saying to himself "It couldn't be him. Kuzon went to his room and spent the rest of the night and most of the next day in his there. Not bothering to come out to eat or to see his family. He just lay there on his bed, his eyes staring blankly into the ceiling. He still had on his clothes from last night but he was so preoccupied he didn't even realize it. He was deep in thought mentally comparing all of Aangs features to the boy he had met last night. Though the two of them shared many similar qualities there were still however significant differences but the thing that made him so annoyed was that there was also enough evidence to suggest that he might be Aang. He tried so hard to make himself believe that Aang and this Kuzon kid were not one and the same. That Aang must have... no did perish when the fire nation destroyed his temple. He also kept telling himself that this so called returning to the world was just some terrible rumor that was fabricated to give everyone a sense of hope. But something in his mind body and soul kept saying to him "What if he didn't die! What if after all these years he has come back! And what if that was him I saw last night!" To ease his mind he tried to think of the differences between the two. For instance Aang didn't have black hair he was bold. But he did recall Aang telling him once that he did have hair and that the monks told him it used to be black. He also thought about the headband Aang would never be ashamed of hiding his arrows but then he though If the whole world thought he was dead wouldn't be better if he tried to hide himself. Then he thought, "Why would he enroll in a fire nation school? He'd risk blowing his cover if he did that. Although Onji did say that the guards brought him in. maybe he was just wearing the wrong disguise in the wrong town." Kuzon began to think of what happened when he was telling the story at the dinner table. "How could he have possibly known what had happened. He claimed it was just a lucky guise but who can just guess a memory that accurately? And the fact that he didn't even eat the meat! Saying that he didn't like it. Aang was the exact same way." Kuzon rubbed his hands through his hair annoyingly. He got up off his bed and began pacing around the room repeating to himself both aloud and in his mind "It can't be him it's just not possible." He let out a small sigh and began to relax himself. He realized right then that it was extremely hot in his room. He walked over to his window and opened it. The cool breeze was very refreshing when it blew into his room. He clasped his hands and rested his elbows on the windowsill. He bent over and placed his chin on his hands staring out into the night sky. He could get a great look at the tree in the back yard he noticed the swing hanging down from it. He smirked he remembered the time when Onji was just five years old. He would spend almost everyday outside pushing her on the swing back and forth he also Remember during nights when it thunderstorm or when Onji had any nightmares she would come into his room Kuzon would see her by his bed in her red Pajamas and holding her teddy bear she keeps with her when she is scared and said to Kuzon in a innocent Voice when it thunderstorm Onji would say Grandpa im scared or when she had a nightmare she says Grandpa I had a Nightmare can I sleep with you Kuzon always had a soft side for Onji and he could never say no to that adorable face of hers he scoops her into his arms and says of course my Little Fireball and Snuggles her into his bed and cover her and himself with blankets to keep her warm and cousy and snuggle her in his arms in his Storys about the Airbenders would cheer her up and sometimes he would tickle her to cheer her up but also he love make her laugh and Giggle but when she was eight and she came into his room he would take her back to her room and tell her the storys about the Airbenders which would help her fall asleep but during Winter he would always let her sleep with so she wouldnt freez to death. He took another long breath when he noticed a shadowy figure moving around out there he quickly stood up straight and examined the figure. The figure was too small to be an adult it looked like a kid. His eyes widened : "Onji!" The final part we'll open up with the next night. Onji is sneaking out of the house and Kuzon catches her asking where she is going. Onji says that Kuzon from school is going to show her and the other students how to dance Kuzon then lectures her about how the fire nation does not like people who self express themselves and say's how dangerous it is to defy the Fire Lord. But he relents and say's he remembers a time when there was peace, no propaganda, no hate, and no war and the people in their nation were free to do what they wanted and how they expressed themselves. He tells Onji he won't tell her parents and to be careful Onji hugs Kuzon and looks up at him with and a adorable look on her face and says thanks for understanding Grandpa that mean a lot coming from you Kuzon put his arms around Onji and say just dont want to see get in trouble or get hurt for that matter I will never forgive myself if something like that happen to you but your growing up and will leaving the house anytime you like soon you wont be the Little Girl that I carried and Snuggled in my arms but I know I cant hold on to you forever and I know when I have to let go so take care and have fun my Little Onji as he tickles her Onji Giggles and looks up at her Grandfather with same adorable look on her face and says with tears oh Grandpa I will always be your little Onji no matter how old or young I am and he says I know you always will then he takes his hands off her and says you better get going you dont want to miss your friinds part im sure all your friends are having fun and Onji says dont worry Grandpa I will be carful as she runs off and Kuzon says take car my little Onji . Kuzon then goes back to his room and on his window he sees a letter on it. Kuzon reads it and he smiles he then glares out the window and says. "It was good to see you again Aang then has a flashback of Aang and himself as a young boy ridding on Appa laughing and enjoying the fun. ." This is just how I pictured it should go. If you think differently please tell me. thanks for taking the time to read this. Miracleboy5200 and Makosharkman 1. Great comic, hate to be a critic, but WHAT HAPPENED?
